The butcher didn’t believe the rumors, but his curiosity grew with each passing day. One evening, he decided to follow her: he waited until she left the store and trailed behind her at a distance.
The woman walked slowly but with determination, dragging the heavy cart through the snowy street. She passed the outskirts of the city, went by abandoned garages, and headed toward an old factory — the one that had been closed for ten years.
The butcher stopped. The woman went inside and disappeared with the packages.
Twenty minutes later, he saw her coming out — now empty-handed. No trace of the meat.
The next day, the scene repeated itself. On the third day, the butcher couldn’t take it anymore. He waited until the woman disappeared inside, then quietly entered the factory himself.
